Dear Jindabyne Chamber,
I would like to make sure that the views and ideas of Eden-Monaro workers and employers, businesses and unions contribute to build a bigger, better-trained, and more productive workforce; boost incomes and living standards; and create more opportunities for more Australians to get ahead and to reach their aspirations.
The Jobs and Skills Summit will focus on:
- keeping unemployment low, boosting productivity and incomes
- delivering secure, well-paid jobs and strong, sustainable wages growth
- expanding employment opportunities for all Australians including the most disadvantaged
- addressing skills shortages and getting our skills mix right over the long term
- improving migration settings to support higher productivity and wages
- maximising jobs and opportunities from renewable energy, tackling climate change, the digital economy, the care economy, and a Future Made in Australia
- ensuring women have equal opportunities and equal pay.
This Eden-Monaro Business Forum will be at 5.30pm on Monday, 15 August 2022. I would very much like to hear from you so I can better represent Eden-Monaro views at the Summit.
Following the Summit an Employment White Paper will be produced recommending immediate actions and opportunities for medium and long-term reforms. Submissions concerning the White Paper will open later in 2022.
