COME & TRY DRAGON BOATING ON LAKE JINDABYNE
Lake Jindabyne “SnowDragons” Dragonboat Club invites you to “Come & Try” Dragonboating on picturesque Lake Jindabyne. They welcome you to take up this opportunity on Saturday Mornings. Starting at 8:15am for a couple of hours, launching from the shores of Lake Jindabyne Sailing Club, Kosciuszko Road, Jindabyne.
THIS COULD BE YOU!
Jump in a boat and circle Lion and Cub Islands, paddle down towards Jindabyne Dam or swing past Curiosity Rocks and meet up for a coffee afterwards and get to know the other Team Members. They’ll be on hand to answer any questions you may have about joining the Club.
Currently there are around 35-40 SnowDragons, and they’d love to see that number grow, especially as in early 2019 Jindabyne plays host to The Flowing Festival (a truly spectacular event where many teams come together to compete) and close by in Canberra in April, the National Dragonboat Championships will be held.
Dragon boating is a fast, fun and furious team sport. Its origins can be traced back 2500 years ago to ancient China where races played an important role during religious ceremonies and festivals. What better location to partake in this very social sport than Lake Jindabyne?
DRAGON BOATING HISTORY
Across the world today thousands of paddlers, men and women from the ages of twelve to over sixty, compete in events from local social races to huge international regattas. The Jindabyne SnowDragons Dragonboating Club welcomes you to experience for yourself the thrill of a paddle and the breathtaking views of Lake Jindabyne from within a Dragonboat.
WHY NOT GIVE IT A GO!
Whether it be for fitness, friendships, competition or fun, dragon boating is a welcome addition to an active lifestyle here in the Snowy Mountains.
Go on! Come and Give it a Try! It’s the best workout you’ll have sitting down!
